art concept

Our journey with clients commences with an in-depth briefing, where we ask questions in relation to the look and feel, objectives, emotions and desired outcome.

We evaluate the project both aesthetically and practically to provide ideas for a bespoke solution that responds appropriately to the brief and within budget requirements.

Each project is different and sourcing the right art that complements the design essence, architecture or a brand is one of our talents, thereby creating an individual space or a feeling of home.

We develop an initial visual concept which is our interpretation of the creative requirements for the project. This often includes a selection of different mediums and art expressions. In discussion with clients, taking their feedback into account, we refine and finalise ideas into a cohesive story.

Our artworks are generally sourced directly from artists, with our intention to always create a unique collection. Crucial to artwork selections is our respect for technique, the artistic process and a quality product

Often art is thought of at the end of the process, as something to fill the walls. We however feel it is what ties the concept and vision together, bringing life and engagement.
budget & project management

Artduo will coordinate, facilitate and manage the project from beginning to end.

With our combined experience in art and project management over the past 25+ years, we are well placed to take on sizeable hotel projects, plus bespoke commercial and residential projects.

Budget management, contract administration and documentation are a high priority for any project we are engaged in. We collaborate directly with interior designer, architects, developers, builders, and hotel operators. Our considered and professional approach keeps clients engaged, knowledgeable and ensures the success of the project.

We are highly service driven and believe in providing a unique experience to both the client and the artist.
We don’t see the relationship with artists and clients as ‘one off’, we see it as a process founded on trust and performance.

We strive for an outstanding result which is achieved through a high level of quality control, with ongoing communication throughout the life of the project with all the stakeholders.
procurement & framing

Once the creative concept is agreed to, we proceed to source art from our vast network of emerging and established Australian artists to determine appropriate works that meet the scope of the project.

Art is hand-picked from contemporary artists, or alternatively a custom work is commissioned, where unique art is brought to life.

Our relationship with and management of artists extends throughout the process. This may include negotiation of royalty and copyright fees for hospitality projects, through to hands on involvement in commissions.

Our specialty is creating custom artworks for leading hotel brands, where individuality is key.

We are known for our technical expertise in custom framing and take artworks to another dimensions that complements the interiors and architecture. Be it high end museum quality finish to commercially driven large-scale projects, the end result is always of great importance to us, with strong attention to detail.

We believe the artists and suppliers we work with are our partners and we collaborate closely with them, seeking their input on the most desirable outcome for a project.
installation

The final placement of the artwork is crucial to making the vision come alive. We place great importance on this component to achieve the maximum impact.

We have aligned ourselves with art couriers and installers across the county who can meet our exacting demands.

What usually appears to be a seamless installation, takes many hours of planning. Art for projects is often varied and challenging, requiring specialised knowledge for installation.

The logistics from delivery to installing is carefully time managed and well-coordinated. We work closely with FF&E logistic teams, or designers on the ground.

Our qualified installers have a broader understanding of building, materials, floor plans and technical requirements to deal with the full range of the installation. We take all aspects into account, from the surface of the wall, security fixings, lighting, safety to final clean-up.

We advise clients on placement of artworks, allowing for a visual flow, identifying the most prominent positions and avoiding possibly direct sunlight or insufficient light and humidity.
